Philadelphia Theatre Workshop (PTW) seeks candidates for a new Producing Artistic Director. The only theater company in the city solely dedicated to supporting and promoting Philadelphia area playwrights, PTW’s mission is to produce world premiere plays by local playwrights. Since 2004, PTW has proudly served the Philadelphia theatre community as an incubator for new plays with its annual PlayShop Festival featuring local playwrights. In 2004, PTW became a non-profit corporation, and in 2005, it achieved 501(c)(3) status. The theatre’s Board of Directors is an active, innovative, and fun group of skilled business and theatre professionals.
The Producing Artistic Director is responsible for overall vision, artistic direction, and production choices; management; administration; budgeting; fundraising; and coordinating of programming, with the assistance of the Board and staff. This is a volunteer position, offering the candidate a leading role in the Philadelphia theatre community and the opportunity to showcase the incredible talent of Philadelphia’s playwrights, directors, actors, and designers.
